Hide or Show the Category Folder on Search Result

By default the “Display as Collection in Search Results” feature on category folder is unchecked. Meaning the category folder will not show up on search result and advanced search result. If you want your category folder to show up when searched, then this article will guide you on how to hide or show the category folder on the search result.

The Category Folder can have one parent Category Folder. Category Folder is a Collection of “Collection Folders” and “Category Folders”. The Category Folder can force a child Collection Folders to inherit its content.

Remember, only the Admin and Above User Type/Role has the authority to edit the settings of the category folder.

Now let’s try to Show a category folder on a search result:

1. Login to Amplifi DAM system, make sure you are using an Admin or Super Admin account.

2. Let’s try to search this category folder on the search feature.

3. It should return ‘No result found’ as expected because the “Display as Collection in Search Results” feature on category folder is unchecked.

4. Click the word “Folders” found on the upper left corner of the screen. Note that the word “Folders” can change to other word depending on the System Setting.

5. Point the mouse on the category folder that you want to show up on search result and click the three dots.

6. Then click edit.

7. On Category folder details, click the admin tab.

8. Click the checkbox of the “Display as Collection in Search Results” feature.

9. Then click the save button.

10. A prompt for “Folder successfully updated” will appear.

11. Let’s try to search this category folder again and let’s see if it will show up on search result.

12. It is now showing up in the search result!
